DAJ accepted onto the Roundhouse Accelerator Programme 2021

We’re delighted to announce that dance art journal has been accepted onto Roundhouse’s Accelerator Programme 2021.

The Self Made Accelerator programme is a three month course specifically designed for businesses in the creative industries. Through weekly workshops, mentoring, pitch practice, peer to peer learning and free onsite desk space, the Roundhouse gets emerging creative businesses ready to take them to places worth dreaming about.

DAJ is super happy and fortunate to have been selected for this programme. It represents a key time in our transition from a blog to a business too. We started out as a group of eager writers going to dance performances and writing about them. We’ve quickly grown into a platform for the independent dance community, writing about work, interviewing artists and holding events. We have created our zine published by Live Art Development Agency and have had residencies and sold-out events at Siobhan Davies Studios. We’ve quickly established ourselves as an important space for independent work to be written about.

The Roundhouse Accelerator Programme will help DAJ in a myriad of ways including:

– Identifying income streams (DAJ team works voluntarily currently in between other jobs)

– Increasing brand awareness and development

– Understanding how DAJ can be structured as a business

The Roundhouse is a huge cultural organisation with excellent resources, networks and expertise. Previous cohorts of the Accelerator Programme include creative businesses Women in Jazz, Pudding and Cheapskate.

DAJ is excited to be following in the footsteps of these successful creative businesses. You can keep up to date on DAJ’s progress by following our Insta.
