Sadler’s Wells has launched a brand-new dance film festival, Dance Digital, coming to audiences from 5 – 7 June 2026. The festival is the first of its kind for Sadler’s Wells, with tickets available this month.
This weekend of ‘dance film’ will feature the UK premiere of a new dance film, exclusive screenings of films by UK and international filmmakers, a digital installation, networking and mentoring sessions from industry experts.
As the festival draws to a close, awards will be given to the best films submitted this year, and a curated selection of the best works will be platformed on Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage for audiences to enjoy at home.
Submissions are now open, with Sadler’s Wells welcoming films in the following categories:
- Short dance on screen (max. 25 minutes)
- Short documentary / behind-the-scenes (max. 25 minutes)
- Feature length film (over 25 minutes)
- Social first films (max. 3 minutes)
- Films by young people (artists 21 and under), (this category is free to apply).
Submissions can be made via Film Freeway with a deadline of Sun 22 February 2026. All selected films will be considered for the following awards:
- Best dance on screen film
- Best documentary / behind-the-scenes film
- Best film by young artists (21 and under)
- Best social first film
- Best cinematography
- Best dance (choreography, performance).
