JaQuel Knight releases new dance film, Biters

American choreographer and dancer JaQuel Knight has directed and created a new dance film, Biters.

Produced by Knight Haus Studios and Metal & Water, Biters is a hypnotic early-2000s-style music video that unites the spirit of the Black American South with the supernatural pulse of Halloween.

The film follows a boy drawn from his grandmother’s stories into a surreal nightmare, where he encounters dancers who personify the darker forces of the world – the very evils his grandmother warned of. In this shadow realm, movement is both haunting and magnetic.

Biters channels JaQuel Knight’s three decades of reshaping pop culture into a spell of rhythm and resistance – part music video, part Southern ghost story.
