We are thrilled to announce that we are one of the four artists who have been awarded a residency at Siobhan Davies Dance as part of its Percolate programme!
The DAJ team will be heading into SDD’s studios for a week on 12 April to conduct important research into new writing models and dance writing tasks, with a view to broadcast a workshop in late spring.
The dance writing workshop will be for participants from all creative backgrounds to see and write about dance in ways true to them. DAJ sees dance writing as far from prescriptive; we hope to guide participants through a series of tasks so they may uncover the different ways of exploring how dance is written and words danced. We will create a safe, inclusive environment where participants, with or without dance and writing experience, can explore creative expression through words.
We are honestly so grateful to have received this award! The team all work on a voluntary basis and dedicate so much time and energy. We’ve been really putting the hours in beforehand and are super excited to get in the studio.
